Japan -> Nagoya
Aichi Prefecture

Nagoya is Japan's fourth largest city and a major transportation hub for the region. The city's history dates back to prehistoric times but it really rose to prominence in the 16th century when the country was unified by Japan's three greatest shoguns. Oda Nobunaga and ToyotomiHideyoshi were both born in Nagoya, but Tokugawa Ieyasu was born in Okazaki, 38mi southwest of the city. Ieyasu was the founder of the military dynasty that ruled Japan until 1867 and who built the Nagoya-jo Castle in 1612 for his son. The city was heavily bombed during World War II.
