In Kobe, you can visit some of the breweries of the most well known sake producers. Though many of the breweries were destroyed during the earthquake, there is a fervent effort to reconstruct and preserve the few that have been left. The Kikumasamune Shuzo Kinenkan brewery still retains its watermill cottage and has a small display of brewing utensils. You can watch the fermenting process at HamafukutsuruGinjo Kobo. Both breweries have sake tastings.
