Japan -> Kanazawa -> Nagamachi Samurai Quarter Nagamachi Samurai Quarter Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture The Nagamachi Samurai Quarter is flanked by earthen-walled streets that create a picturesque area. Most of the buildings are private now, but in 1910, a shipping magnate restored the Nomura House and added part of a samurai home he owned in his hometown. Though the house isn't entirely authentic, its nice woodwork, peaceful garden, and expensive windowpanes give a glimpse into what samurai life was like. |
